HOW TO KEEP your mojo in midlife

What exactly is mojo? We often hear the word mojo in conversations around our wellbeing, but do we really know what it means? According to the dictionary, mojo means magic power. This makes it easier to understand what it means when talking about mojo.

Your mojo can be something like your sense of humour, or your love for life. It’s that something that makes you, you.

When you enter your midlife years, it’s easy to lose your mojo. Changes to your body, your energy and your life in general can quickly erode your magic power from your life and make you feel like an alien in your own body. When you don’t feel like yourself, it can also lead to depression and anxiety because you’ve lost touch with that magic inside of yourself.

It’s therefore important to learn how to keep your mojo in your midlife because it can help you navigate this period of transition with ease and flow. Here are some ways to keep your mojo in midlife.

Believe in yourself

It may not be the easiest thing to do, but believe in yourself and who you are. If you find it difficult to do, write down five good things about yourself every day and recite them out loud.

You can also use affirmations to strengthen your believe in yourself. Reminding yourself about your value will help you keep your mojo alive.

Don’t buy into limiting beliefs and self-doubt

Self-doubt can kill of any mood. It’s important to become aware of your thoughts and be present with them. When you become aware of self-doubt or even limiting beliefs, the secret isn’t to deny the thoughts, but to let it go.

We have been conditioned to run away from ourselves, so when you start on this journey of being present it can be helpful to have a daily reminder and set your intentions for the day. There are good videos on YouTube to help you with this, as well as mindfulness apps.

Discover your what you’re passionate about

Sometimes we do things because we think that’s what we’re supposed to do. To truly live in your magic, you need to live out your passions. The minute you start living from your true passion, your magic will shine even more.

Take time to find out what you love and follow the breadcrumbs to where your magic will shine.

Make meaningful connections

We need to connect to others to expand and grow. When you make connections to new people, make sure they are the kind of people you want in your life. If they share the same values and goals, you will feel more connected to yourself and your magic.

Your mojo will help you through

When you go through midlife when lots of things change, it’s important that you keep your magic so that the transition will be easier. This will make you feel more confident and able to handle all the change.
